The BOOST Network first Lights On Afterschool t-shirt design contest is officially open, and this year, we’re looking for any artwork that represents the spirit of our afterschool programs in our Paso del Norte Region.

We’re looking for ideas and concepts on how to include comprehensively our region. This includes graphic designs, paintings, drawings, words and phrases, and anything that represents west Texas (El Paso), southern New Mexico (Las Cruces), and Mexico (Cd. Juárez).​

Be creative! Think of how your program has opened new opportunities for you and your friends. Let us know in the form of art! 

 

Be sure to include in the entry form: the name of the person who designed the artwork, age, and the program that they participate at.

 

These ideas can be portrayed in abstract or realistic renderings. The top five (5) contender submissions will be featured on our website and BOOST's Facebook and Instagram for public voting. The t-shirt contest winner will receive a gift card of $100, plus having his/her artwork displayed and printed on more than 2,000 t-shirts that will be worn during our celebrations!!  

 

Voting will take place in the month of July on our BOOST website. The winner will be announced during the first week of August! 

 

 

Rules and guidelines:  

 

• Be sure to submit all drawn or created artwork on a letter size paper (8.5 x 11). Anything smaller than a letter size (8.5 x11), or with different proportions, will make the image impossible to use. 

• For digital submissions, make sure  is in JPEG, PNG or PDF format and is no larger than a 2 MB file with a PPI of 300.

• Use ONLY BOOST Network color scheme (light blue, purple, red, orange, and green) (white and black can be used as an outline) you can use one, two or even all five colors.

• It has to represent the El Paso del Norte Region (El Paso, Las Cruces, and Cd. Juárez)

• Only kids from 5 - 17 yrs can participate.

• The t-shirt will be white, please use a white background on your design

• Designs will be ONLY displayed at the front of the t-shirt.

• If your artists include the phrase “Lights On Afterschool” in their designs, make sure “afterschool” is written as one word.

 

A few don’ts:

• Avoid using a specific program name within the submission. 

• It’s not required that the winning design includes the words Lights On Afterschool.

• Avoid using small designs or pictures as the resolution will affect on the printing.

 

Keeping those guidelines in mind, be as creative as possible!

Be sure to complete the full form and include it with your artwork submission no later than Sunday, July 13, 2025.
