Lights On Afterschool (LOA) was launched in October 2000 by the Afterschool Alliance to call attention to the importance of out-of-school time (OST) programs for children, families, and communities. Annually, in the United States more than 8,000 Lights on Afterschool events and rallies attract millions of people and media coverage nationwide. Since 2018, BOOST Network has celebrated Lights on Afterschool, inviting children and youth in the Paso del Norte region to participate in OST celebrations of our out-of-school time programs.

Annually, we engage more than 1,200 kids hosting three (3) events throughout the region. These events are fun and engaging Fall Carnivals/ Afterschool Enrollment Fairs where BOOST members highlight their program activities as they celebrate and call attention of the importance of OST programs for our communities.

Kids Night Out was created in 2022 supporting UTEP's Football by bringing 1,500 children and youth that participated in BOOST members’ programming to the home opener. In 2023, the event expanded to a regional effort, increasing the amount of children and youth participating, now in opportunities on both sides of the border.

This year with your support, we will continue to provide these opportunities through two (2) major sporting events. The first being the annual battle of I-10 UTEP vs NMSU. The second a FC Juárez game in Cd. Juarez.

The series start on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at UTEP's Sun Bowl for UTEP and concluding in early 2026 for an FC Juárez men’s game.

Spring Into Summer

Summer programs are important for the health and growth of youth in our region. Each Spring as students in the Paso del Norte region begin looking forward to the end of the school year, it is vital for parents to plan ahead and begin thinking about summer programming to keep youth safe and engaged during the summer school break.

To help families, the BOOST Network has developed a Summer Program Guide as part of the Spring into Summer campaign, that provides parents and guardians with important information on available summer programs in the Paso del Norte region.

Starting May 8th, the Summer Program Guide will become available and the BOOST Network will  be featuring exciting summer programs through the Spring into Summer campaign.
